Rest assured that your projects built with Dura-Crete walls are fire resistant & wind resistant. Our walls create a "tight" environment that is less prone to bugs, better insulated and are noticably more energy efficient than an average concrete block home. Peace of mind comes from our over all structural superiority and the quiet living space created when your project is constructed with Dura-Crete!
- Unlike other sandwich type walls that have different depth variations, Dura-Crete walls are solid concrete... no foam center.
- Dura-Crete walls are stronger than concret block or wood framing and are highly resistant to flying object damage during a wind storm.
- More cost effective and faster to erect.
- Rebar strengthens our panels, making them more durable once in place.
- Our very unique patented fastening system is found in the interior of our walls, unlike some wall systems that are anchored on the exterior of the interior wall. Bolting and anchoring inside the actual wall adds tremendous strength, as steel runs through all of our fastening systems, where other wall systems use simple embeds.
- DSI walls have been wind load tested up to 170 miles per hour without experiencing distress or failure. Hurricane Katrina's winds at landfall were 140 mph, which places the storm as a strong Category 4 on the Saffir-Simpson scale of hurricane intensity. Andrew was a Category 5 storm, with winds of 165 mph when it made landfall south of Miami.
Concrete block and other prior wall designs formed upright generally have irregular faces and weak cohesion. More important is that the mortar used to join concrete block is below the strength of properly hardened concrete and forms a relatively weak bond with blocks. Dura-Crete walls are a solid, rebar enforced concrete upright structure, which together with our patented fastening methods create a safe, long lasting home. |
